DELL L100
(Rubberdome)
Overview: This is a keyboard which is mainly for a the office. and you can find them in many place and this one was in one of the Dell Optiplex. it is a full-size keyboard and it made in China. it is manufactured by Darfon Electronics. This supposed to replace a Dell Quiet Key
First Impression: Right of the bat, you can say this keyboard is looking decently good and it look kinda like gaming keyboard sometimes but then again this is a Rubberdome keyboard and not mechanical keyboard. The keyboard housing material however, it so cheap and flimsy plastic which is pretty common practice these day!
The Keycap: The Keycap is not the best here, they are Pad Printed Single Shot ABS Keycap. this mean that the letter will wear out in the long use. because this is an intergrated slider dome, you cannot replace the keycap with a Cherry MX mount or ALP Mount. the slider are just plain generic! also they some stupid keycap shaped which is not really my thing such as left windows button and right "right click" key.
The Switch and feel: Well, there nothing much to say, this is a piece of junk and it feel mushy but it is still better than HP Classic Keyboard. and the sound are OK but not like Mitsumi switch keyboard on Appple A1048 or the Topre. you, may say. Aren't Membrane version of the Model M suck too? Well, Those are IBM and their dome are much better than this crap dell keyboard.
The Sound: Dell Quiet Key->
Well, you can see the newer Dell L100 doesn't sound as impressive as an Older Dell Quiet key with NMB Slider
At The end of the day, i still prefer a Dell Quiet Key over an Dell L100 simply because it have NMB Slider! to compare the present day keyboard to a 90s keyboard are so very different. and i will say this is not bad but the quality is start to feel cheap at this time period! as to the reason why i don't use the new keyboard or even a new cherry MX switches! - I Use Matias Tactile Pro 1 for the most typing!
